CARMELINA

Diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2014, Carmelina endured countless rounds of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation until she was cleared of her cancer in July 2015. As a breast Cancer survivor, Carmelina’s transformative experiences have fueled her passion for the art of Areola Restoration.

Through her own life lessons and struggles with breast Cancer, Carmelina was able to channel her energy into a craft that serves to bring happiness to others while fulfilling her own life’s purpose. Carmelina takes pride in continuously refining her approach, skills and techniques to not only produce exceptional aesthetic results but also to support her clients in their transition.

“I WANT TO HELP AS MANY WOMEN AS I CAN, FEEL WHOLE AND BEAUTIFUL AGAIN. THAT’S ALL I WANT TO DO.”

KACIE

Losing her father to cancer in high school, and then finding a lump in her breast at age 21, Kacie was forced to work through indescribable loss at a young age. Diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome, Kacie is a strong advocate for cancer awareness through early detection and prevention.

Fulfilling her dad's last wish of graduating from the University of Alberta, Kacie built a community of over ten thousand women supporting women online, taking that scary word 'cancer' and flipping it to become something positive. She is the picture of positive energy and light and describes her purpose as all about community and support; creating a foundation where people feel safe to communicate through.

“WHEN YOU SEE THE HAPPINESS IN THEIR EYES WHEN THEY LOOK IN THE MIRROR… PHEW! THIS IS WHERE WE TELL OURSELVES THAT WE HAVE REALLY FOUND OUR VOCATION."

Procedures for a Positive Purpose

We’re stronger together and have the power to come together as a global community to fund services for breast cancer warriors.

Unfortunately, Areola Restoration is not covered under any provincial healthcare programs. It’s a crucial part of the healing process, which incorporates mind, body, and spirit. Finances should never be a barrier to holistic healing.

That’s why Camelina and Kacie are bringing together a community to help provide more information about the cancer screening process and services available to warriors who would benefit from Areola Restoration.  Through social media, Carmelina and Kacie are building a more cancer-aware community of over 30K warriors. There they empower women to consistently get check-ups, share the benefits of areola restoration, and provide education about the process.

Once a month at their studio, they provide services pro bono to a warrior in need, using  angel funds to cover the costs of supplies.
